With these guys.

Doing this.

This Thanksgiving I'm here.

With these girls.

Doing this.

Needless to say I'm thankful.
Four friends drop thousands of dollars on plane tickets, vaccinations, superfluous climbing gear, hundreds of malaria pills, antacids, and probiotics, miniscule sleeping bags, camera lenses, and quick-dry underwear, cram it all into their backpacks, and set out to travel southeast asia for four months.

Bryce, it does seem as though you have a lot to be thankful for. Every entry and every new set of pictures evokes all new and exciting images......and you are right there to experience it all. And as a mom I am glad you are there, the "alpha male" to protect the girls. I am thankful for Leslie having the opportunity for this incredible adventure and for her having such wonderful traveling companions. Thanks for the always wonderful to see photos. (If you don't mind.......give that Leslie of mine a hug from her mom. I am very thankful for having such a great daughter.) Thanks, Bryce, for everything.
Linda
Ses, It is 11:30 p.m. here and Theresa is busy doing kitchen stuff for Thanksgiving. It is 2:30 tomorrow there, I think. I am very thankful you are safe and sound and hoping your are enjoying a nice dinner. I haven't open the package yet. I just enjoy having something in the house that came from across the world.
Dennis
Bryce and all, hope your Thanksgiving celebration was tasty - I know it was great with the four of you together. The climbing looks like fun. I like to visit lots of fabric shops when I travel. I think Noel's dad would like me to take up climbing instead! Pat
Bryce, you are missing the 4 am sale at Kohls, the 5am sales at Linens n Things, Best Buy, Staples, the 6 am sale at Sears.... you can't tell me that Laos is more wonderful than NY this time of year =)
I'm thankful for such an adventurous sister and for her friends for showing me another world!
(I hope you all realize I'm kidding about the sales, although my Dad is trying to convince me it's a great idea to get up at 4 am and buy a cordless drill....)
I am thankful for this blog and the wonderful pictures so I can feel in touch in some way with you world travlers and your adventure.
Greetings from Bend! The turkey is in the oven, awaiting the arrival of Elden, DeeAnn, Andrea, Tim, Sheena and Beth. Too much food..(surprise) Bryce...the drambui is waiting........Thankful you guys are having a wonderful time and are safe and healthy. We'll all post last this afternoon....
beautiful entry.
Ah Bryce! Twas a fine Thanksgiving dinner at Carrow's. Laos' got nothin on Jtree...
FYI to family and friends. I called the airline to confirm the arrival time on Dec. 29 and was told the flight on that day has been canceled. They will need to reschedule. I emailed Leslie but haven't heard back yet. There is a flight on the 28th and 30th but given how good of a time they are having, who knows...
Dennis
Dennis, thanks for checking with the airline ( I don't even know what the airline is; I guess it's somewhat okay since they made it to Bangkok). I will also e-mail Ali to see what their decision is about the return. Keep us posted on the blog, please.
I feel the same way, Marian. Any group of kids like ours who have been able to navigate themselves all over SE Asia, in every conceivable form of transportation, amidst language difficulties, time changes, roads with no names, unclear directions, and uncertain lodging will surely be able to figure out how to get home! They have already shown their flexibility, their adventurous and safe trekking about, and a place to sleep each night while sometimes enjoying meals with local families who are, not surprisingly, thrilled to meet such great kids! This is assuming, of course, they CHOOSE to find out how to get home...........Linda
YES!!!! Just saw the new pics on your Flickr site, Bryce. Beautiful as usual. The scenery is incredible and there is that one extremely good one of Leslie and Ali.....
Thanks, Bryce, for keeping this site up for everyone to enjoy.
Hi Ali, and hope to read one of your great blogs soon.
